Symbols carved on the lintel above the South Door of the Church of San Salvador, Merlán, Galicia, Spain

These symbols are described in the Spanish local guidebook as:

"…….es una pequeña iglesia románica, reformada en los siglos XV o XVI, con rústica decoración de posibles árboles apocolípticos en el dentel de la puerta sur…."

Roughly translated as:

A romanesque church, rebuilt in the 15th or 16th century with a rustic representation of what might be apocalyptic trees.
