Severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Awareness Day ribbon

The Severe ME Awareness ribbon is royal blue.

Sometimes the ribbon is used with writing on a background rather than on the ribbon itself.

Severe ME Awareness Day is a day of remembrance and awareness for people with severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, and their carers and families.

Severe ME Day is held on August 8 ever year, a data chosen because it was the birthday of Sophia Mirza, who died from severe ME.

Severe ME Day honors those with severe and very severe ME, and those who care for them.

People with severe or very severe ME vary from those almost totally housebound to fully bedbound for decades. 1 in 4 people with ME have severe ME and very few recover.

Severe ME Day was started by the British charity The 25% ME Group.

ME is a neurological disease with no known cure.
